9/11 conspiracy theorists honored by CAIR-OK and the Islamic Society of Tulsa
On August 25th, 2007, the newly formed Council of American Islamic Relations of Oklahoma and the Islamic Society of Tulsa honored 25 non-Muslims at their first Goodwill Appreciation Award Dinner. Three of the evening awards went to Joe Picorale, John Fanning and Jim Robinson who were honored along with 22 other honorees for their contribution in promoting peace, goodwill and a greater understanding of mainstream Muslim beliefs.
Who are Joe Picorale, John Fanning and Jim Robinson? They are the three founders of TulsaTruth who believe, among other things, there was a controlled demolitions of the WTC on 9/11 and it was a conspiracy to frame the Muslim world. They also believe there is no proof Osama Bin Laden was involved in 9/11. I guess his videos which play the martyr tapes of the men who flew the planes into the World Trade Center isn't good enough.
Take a minute to look around on their website.
Allison Moore, of the Islamic Society of Tulsa, nominated these "9/11 truthers" and read the following (half-way down this cached page) to all at the dinner:
"Since September 11th few Americans have heard the voice of mainstream Muslims. TulsaTruth is an organization of concerned citizens who take time out from their professional careers to meet month at the library. They educate the public about a variety of issues including the events of 9/11, the war in Iraq, civil liberties, and patriotism. In their quest for truth they have given Tulsa Muslims a forum to voice their views, actions and reactions to the horrific events of September 11th. They have given us a platform to educate the public and communicate the message that main steam Muslims were equally offended and distraught over the horrific day and that there is no place in Islam for such acts of terrorism.
In addition to educating the public, they have placed our public speeches on their website and youtube for viewing, and they have opened up the doors to additional education through Libertarian Talk Radio and the Rotary Club. During a time when mass media so often focuses on the shocking events of the day and fails to give main steam Muslims a say, we would like to thank you John, thank you Joe and thank you Jim from the bottom of our hearts for providing us a public forum!"
I did a quick check on TulsaTruth's website and there is nothing from the Tulsa Muslim community, no public speeches, no YouTube videos, no nothing. I'm not sure what public forum TulsaTruth gave the IST. It would have been helpful to see a section of all IST's public statements enabled by these truthers which earned them this award.
Wow! Ms. Moore's said TulsaTruth educates the public about the truth is astonishing.
In February, Moore wrote a Reader's Forum article in the Tulsa World complaining how their words were not getting out about their strong condemnation of terrorism. Her very first sentence turned her article from one condemning terrorism to one all about Muslims, the real the victims of the 9/11 tragedy. Shameful.
"The horrifying events of Sept. 11, 2001, have deeply impacted the American Muslim community and we have suffered terribly because of it...Muslims are living in a time that their every move is being scrutinized, every mistake reported, and many stories are twisted to vilify them..."
TulsaTruth wrote about their award this way on their website; ..."Joe P., Joh F. and Jim R. will be recognized at a Muslim Appreciation Banquet for TulsaTruth's efforts to educate and inform people about the 9/11 Myth and the falsehoods of Islamaphobia. We will be in the company of many other prominent Tulsans this evening. It will help bring attention to our organization and our cause. We are very honored to receive this award and want to thank Allison and Sean Moore for making this possible."
Falsehoods of Islamophobia? Better rethink that based on significant evidence showing a determined Islamic push to change America into an Islamic state by the Muslim Brotherhood. The FBI has linked CAIR to this movement in court documents.
Aside from TulsaTruth being bestowed such a "special" award, why did the Islamic Society of Tulsa partner with the Council of American Islamic Relations? This is not good news for Oklahomans because it places IST in the same company as CAIR and their long and troubled history of alignment with the Islamic world more than America.
The Justice Department named CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism funding trial for their relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood or Hamas or the like.
CAIR co-founder and Chairman Emeritus, Omar Ahmad, declared that the Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, "should be the highest authority in American, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth." on July 4, 1998. The reporter who covered the event, Lisa Gardiner, told WND she remembers the strong statement by Ahmad, who was one of several speakers at a session titled, "How Should We As Muslims Live in America?" at an Islamic conference in Fremont. Here's a copy of the article that was in the San Ramon Valley Herald: Download AhmadStateScanned.pdf
Before CAIR, Ahmad was an Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP) official, he was captured on FBI surveillance tapes at an Hamas meeting in the United States during 1993 explaining that the IAP could not, for political reasons, admit its support for Hamas, and then discussing how the Hamas agenda could be cloaked and advanced.
Several CAIR officials have been convicted or arrested for lying including Ghassan Elashi, a founding board member of CAIR-Texas; Randall (Ismail) Royer, once a communications specialist for the national group, and Bassam Khafagi, the organization's one-time director of community relations. Nabil Sadoun, currently on CAIR's board and chair of CAIR-Texas, helped found the United Association for Studies and Research (UASR). While there has been no criminal prosecution of the UASR, Sadoun founded it along with Hamas leader Marzook. Internal records show the UASR was a founding member of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee in America, according to the Investigative Project report (includes legal citings).
Are you paying attention?
The Justice Department also named the Islamic Society of North American (ISNA) an unidicted co-conspirator. The Islamic Society of Tulsa's constitution (available on their website) establishes their relationship with ISNA is to be continuous:
"It shall establish and maintain continuous affiliation with the Islamic Society of North America."
Ms. Moore, did I say anything here that twists the truth in any fashion?

Update: Read comments from Allison Moore and Jim Robinson of TulsaTruth posted on Batesline's here. It appears they can't deny their words and actions but blame others for using them.
Update 8/16/08: This awards dinner was also discussed in the Sept. 2007 newsletter of the Tulsa Partners (see page 6). CAIR and IST also gave awards to the Sec. of State Susan Savage and Deputy Mayor Tom Baker, to name a few.
Bob Roberts, Ann Patton, and Deputy Mayor Tom Baker were also recipients of the Goodwill Appreciation awards given by the Islamic Society of Tulsa and the Oklahoma Chapter of the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Source: Tulsa Partners Download SeptemberNL2007.pdf (see page 6)
And I found this today, as well:
"Tulsatruth.org presents Allison Moore. Allison gives a peak into the life of an American Muslim in a post 9/11 enviornment. Tulsatruth.org"
Did I hear Mrs. Moore being introduced as a "fellow TulsaTruth member"? Why, yes I believe I did.

What could the Islamic Society of Tulsa be thinking when they honored 9/11 truthers?
Posted by: Richard J. - Oklahom City | December 06, 2007 at 09:07 AM
CAIR, an unindicted co-consipirator in the Holy Land Foundation Trial for their relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood holds more weight for TulsaTruthers and the Islamic Center of Tulsa than our own government. They deserve each other as far as I'm concerned.
The Muslim Brotherhood wants to create a Globla Islamic State. Hello??? Anybody home?

If it really was a simply as the last comment and be on the same team. The attack in America on 9/11/01 was our wake up call that they are Islamic forces at work that are trying to take over the world. To just narrowly focus on WTC Building 7 is counter productive here. It was an incidental casualty of the attack. Tulsa Truthers are so far off the mark here it isn't even funny. Are they implying that Bin Laden was not involved?

I think that we all have lost our purposes here. What we ALL really need to do is remember why we started all of this in the first place. We don't need to team up against eachother, make fun of eachother, and talk down to eachother. We need to, for once, be on the same team. We need to stand together and fight for the same thing: America. The real America. The free America.
This isn't (and shouldn't) be about which Americans are wrong, which are stupid, or which are right.... we have bigger problems on our hands here. Let's use this energy we're wasting on bashing one another, and fight for a better cause. Fight for your rights, as an American. Fight for those rights that have been taken away by a corrupt system of government!
How can we expect to make a difference and save the "Real America" when we're using all of our time fighting one another while the culprit gets away?
Come on, people.

How many of you people have actually read the 9/11 Commission Report? I have read this governmnet document and not one word is mentioned about World Trade Center 7, not one word!!! Why? A 47 story steel building collapse in 6.5 seconds without any "Main Support Structural Damanage". Look at all the facts not just the cover up version !! Also, take the time and watch "ALL" tower 7 videos. Steel Skyscrapers do NOT colapse in 6.5 seconds "Just like a Demolition", unless it is a "Demolition!!!

Oh my. This does not reflect well for the Islamic Society of Tulsa, at all. They have embraced a national organization, CAIR, which has been named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Trial for their association with the Muslim Brotherhood!!! This Brotherhood seeks to create a global Islamic state, my fellow citizens. I would imagine this means doing away with our democracy, too.
They kicked a man out of their mosque who spoke out against terroism when they could have stood by his side.
Now they have honored a group that believes the tragedy of 9/11 was a inside job for speaking the truth!
I think I know all I need to about the Islamic Society of Tulsa.

Tulsa Truth needs to do their homework. Here is a video that shows the tremendous damage WTC 7 received from the falling WTC, the subsequent fire and eventual collapse.

There is plenty of evidence that refutes the official story. Please take the time and do some research. Even if on 9/11 the U.S. was caught off guard there has been a huge cover-up. How would they have planted explosives in WTC 7? This building housed the CIA, FBI, Giuliani's emergency bunker and more. It is also interesting that Marvin Bush (yes our presidents brother) was head of security at the world trade center complex until September 10, 2001. Do you even know how many skyscrapers fell on 9/11? Watch this video please: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwSc7NPn8Ok

The list of questionable stuff about the Islamic Society of Tulsa is making me wonder about this group. What else do we not know about them?
Posted by: Mike - Broken Arrow | September 29, 2007 at 04:55 PM
Is this very strange or what? Honoring a group that thinks its an inside job about what happened on 9/11? I guess that is what the Muslims in Tulsa think, too. Afterall they honored them.
Posted by: Jamie | September 27, 2007 at 02:25 PM
Why would an islamic group who is trying so hard to make us believe Islam is a religion of peace hook up with conspirtors of the 9/11 tragedy? What a dumb move.
