Barack Obama on former terrorist William Ayers

Below is the answer given by Barack Obama when asked about his association with a former member of the Weather Underground terrorist group, William Ayers, in last night's debate.

...The fact is I am also friendly with Senator Tom Coburn---one of the most conservative republicans--- who---said---might be appropriate to apply the death penalty to those who carry out abortions---do I need to apologize for Mr. Corburn's statement---

What the heck?

In Ayer's book, Fugitive Days: A Memoir, ironically published on September 11, 2001. Ayers opens with his statement, "I don't regret setting bombs, I feel we didn't do enough."

...He went underground in 1970, after his girlfriend, Diana Oughton, and two other people were killed when bombs they were making exploded in a Greenwich Village town house. With him in the Weather Underground was Bernardine Dohrn, who was put on the F.B.I.'s 10 Most Wanted List.New York Times 9/11/01

In 1981 Ayers and his cohort, turned themselves into the authorities in 1981. All charges against him were eventually dropped because of prosecutorial misconduct.

Video of William Ayers, in his own words--- he didn't regret anything (around the 33 sec. mark)
