I applaud any company that says no head-coverings allowed at work who stand their ground. Do you know of any company that allows baseball caps or cowboy hats? I didn't think so. Hijabs, the Islamic head-covering, should be not different. Now, a McDonalds in Dearborn, Michigan has been hit with a multi-million lawsuit.
Muslims insist this is a obligatory dress code, which I contend is not. I've only read in the Quran that women should dress modestly and cover their breasts. No where have I read in the Quran that hair and/or the face is to be covered up but, perhaps, I missed it.
Generally, in our country we practice our religion in our houses of worship and quietly go about it in our lives on a daily basis. Muslims, on the other hand, often live their lives only through the prism of Islam. Everything is filtered through the Quranic doctrine and then discussed. Their way of looking at the world is far removed from the norm and is uncomfortable for most of us. We are well aware their religious doctrine claims to be the final religion and that Jews and Christians have altered their books. Their doctrine is rigid and punitive although all they will discuss at public forums is that Islam is only about peace. Just study how Islam is practiced in Islamic countries and it's anything but peaceful. Or study Islamic history of supremacsit rule founded in sharia law. Citizens under its rule are only allowed to say Islam = peace or face death.
Consider, too, that Islamic terrorism's global reach is unprecedented in history and most Muslims organizations do nothing but complain about our government's efforts to protect us from their fellow Muslims who want to do us harm. They also seem oblivious to the fact that the Muslim Brotherhood, seeks to bring the entire world under Islamic rule and that many of American's Islamic organizations are linked to this movement. How dare they try to skirt this issue.
In doesn't help to read this first the Middle East website called Islamonline, that tracks Muslim's advances or troubles in America chaired by a top terrorist supporter, Yusef Qaradawi. And, of course, the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas linked Council of American Islamic Relations cries the loudest about the grievous insult McDonald's made.
McDonald's anti-hijab attitude drew fire from lawyers and American Muslims.
"It is extremely disturbing that such discrimination could take place at a location which does not mind collecting Muslim dollars, yet places restriction on Muslim women who wear hijab," CAIR-Michigan executive director Dawud Walid.

To the man with five names. That verse says to dress modestly. It doesn't say cover your head.

It doesnt ask you to cover your head in the Quran, ofcourse silly, the head covering is a geographical and climate thing. To protect the head (brain) from getting too hot and to cover your face from sand storms, (thats why the men cover thier heads too). When that became religious is beyond me. But it all fairness, the jews wear the yamakas (sp?), the sikhs wear thier turbans, which are religious, just as the orthodox catholics cover thier heads.
Anyways coming back to Mickey dees, how come the big M has no problem with muslims covering thier heads in saudi arabia and UAE? Petro dollars speaketh, shut everybody else all you jingositic, over zealous americans, me included :)

Wow...Yet another slice of Islamic ignorence. Nuns wear habbits as a part of a UNIFORM...Not regular clothing to hide from Christian men

nuns dont have jobs dumbass ! hijab is worn voluntarily ! jews working at restaurants dont wear yarmilukes ! NO HIJAB should be worn at work !

@Hussain: Nuns were their gear voluntarily, they don't wear it out of fear to be raped and they don't were it to legitimize rape like mohammedans women do.
Mohammedanism is a satanic deception you should get out of while you still can. In a very short time from new Jesus will come back and He will judge you if you do not repent and accept Him as you Lord, Creator an Saviour.
All that worship the allah demon will perish and die the second death.
Repent from your sin (mohammedanism) or face the consequences when Jesus comes back to free us from mohammedanism and other evil.

All the hate and miss-information does not, will not change the facts. Judge not lest ye be judged. Not sure what Quran you read but the Quran was clear to all “Women” not just Muslims nor just Nouns, but to all women including Mary mother of Jesus. That A believing women should dress modestly, cover her body, especially the hair. Islam is not just for Muslim, Arabs, or other than humanity it is for all Human beings. Those who accept save themselves from hell fire prepared only for those who deny God’s message to them. Those who accept, take head and obey protect themselves from a fire prepared for all others. Say all you want, lie, kick, scream, and got the highest mountain and scream whatever you want it does not change the fact that Islam is from your Creator, creator of the Heavens and the earth. We are all here for a short period of time what’s to come is for eternality. Do you want to be on the wrong side of your lords guidance? There will be no executes, or will there be a chance to come back to get it right. Islam is here to give glade tiding for those who submit to their Creators message, and warn those who reject his message there will be no mercy for hell is forever. Why should your lord accept you when he sent a message for you and you rejected it, made fun of it, and drove other from looking at it. Why then should you have mercy? Think about the answer because you will be called to account for it on the day of judgments. Remember what I am telling you for I will say “ I told you so…” my name is the Worshiper of our Creator. Peace to those who accept guidance.

hms, the majority of the world's citizens do NOT believe in Islam.
It's also very important to point out that Muslims are forced to remain Muslims in Islamic controlled countries governed by sharia (Islamic law). In other words, they are keep in bondage to a religious/political ideology they are fobidden from leaving or criticizing or else they could face death. This brings about a much disfavor to Islam as the daily attacks by jihadists.
BTW, you IP address indicates you were on a Marine Corp server out of Woodridge, Virginia. How interesting.
And lastly, Christianity is the world's most followed religion with over 2 billion Christians, It is truly a religion for all mankind in every sense of the word. No one is bound or forced to it by any law.
God Bless.

Doesn't the Bible advise women to cover their head? Also, just as nuns choose to cover most muslim women CHOOSE to cover, especially American women who have chosen to follow the religion of Islam. In addition no one has the right to decide to interpret another persons religion for them. One could say that Christian women should cover their heads or shave it as the Bible says, but there are many interpretations of the Bible and no person, or government can decide what interpretation people have to adhere to. If it is not harming anyone else I don't see the point in trying to change someone's beliefs and practices. Nobody asks nuns to remove their habit, regardless of why they wear it, and nobody should feel they have the right to ask a muslim woman to remove her hijab. Is one woman less entitled to rights than the other? It is out of the realm of acceptable behaviors in a free society to try to dictate what a person does and does not wear if it is not harmful to anyone else in the society (and my argument does not cover the full facial veil).
