The co-editor of the Muslim Brotherhood's English website, Khaled Salam, wrote an August 11th editorial about the resignation of Barack Obama's national Muslim coordinator.
In this article, Salam denied there are any members of their brotherhood in the United States:
Editorial: Muslim Brotherhood Hits the Obama Campaign Trail
(web page saved on 8/12/08):
"...Islamic organizations in the U.S. described the campaign against Mr. Asbahi as “nationwide efforts by Islamophobes---to deny Muslims access to the political process.”
The MB has repeatedly denied it has any representation in the U.S.---the MB confirmed that it---has no organizational links, ties, or associations with--- the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), the Muslim Student Association (MSA), the Muslim American Society (MAS), and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) (sure, we believe you - these are the organization already ID'd by our government for their MB roots).
There are---ideological similarities between the MB and most of above---these---represent mainstream moderate Islamic thinking (by that do you mean global Islamic rule and/or hatred for Israel?).---some of the founders or members of these organizations were---either members or sympathizers of the MB in their native countries before they migrate to the U.S. or other countries..."
But this is one big got-cha moment. Khaled Salam's by-line on the editorial said his location was in the United States! His blog profile also states he is an American Muslim living in the U.S. working for the Muslim Brotherhood!
I'm glad I saved his web page because a day later his bog was removed from the Internet after being exposed by zTruth. It's something I've learned to do as I research the Islamist infiltration in America.
In October 2006, he posted on his blog an article also published on the MB website about an MB forum at the Center on Law and Security at NYU School of Law. Two MB members overseas were denied entry into the U.S. to attend. Salam said he used an American name to get into the forum for fear of being detected by authorities. He also mentioned MB's support for Hamas in the article!
"...Unfortunately, I myself was unable to identify myself as the Ikhanweb editor, and I had to sign in using an "American name", for fear of putting my trip home in jeaopardy by irrational US authorities." ---In no terms we can consider the MB assistance to Hamas an aid to a terrorist group no matter what the West thinks or believes. We are proud of our support of our brothers and sisters in Palestine and we will never abandon them, so help us God."
In another 2006 article he showed his location as New York.
Here's a great example of Islamist trickery claiming absolute non-involvement in the U.S. while living here and working as co-editor of the Muslim Brotherhood English website.
Or did Salam lie about being in the U.S.? Either way it's not good news for the Muslim Brotherhood's credibility.
UPDATE 8/15/08: Salam changed his by-line location on his editorial from the United States to Egypt. The saved web page from August 12th shows his by-line location as the United States.
Update 8/25/09: In an interview a Muslim Brotherhood leader confirms presence in the U.S. an interview with Mohamed Habib, deputy leader of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood

I'd say this guy has a credibility problem now.

Has this guy traveled to the U.S.? If so is he using a fake ID or how can he get in? Why would the U.S. let him in? I don't get it.
Maybe Muslim Brotherhood members can travel freely to the U.S.?
