The Oklahoma Senate Judiciary is scheduled to possibly vote on HJR 1056 tomorrow! This is the resolution that has already passed the Oklahoma House that could allow Oklahomans the right to vote on an amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution that would ban Sharia and international law from consideration in Oklahoma courts in the future. But, first it has to be passed out of this committee and be voted on by the entire Senate.
More information on the bill can be found here (find basic search link on the left and enter HJR 1056 in the search box)
I urge you to call the judiciary committee members listed below and politely urge them to pass HJR 1056 tomorrow so it can be brought to full Senate for a vote.
Senator Susan Paddack - Vice Chair Democrat (405) 521-5541
Senator Kenneth Corn (D) listed on CAIR's email as attending their banquet (405) 521-5576
Senator Brian Crain (R) (405) 521-5620
Senator Charlie Laster (D) (405) 521-5539
Senator Dan Newberry (R) (405)521-5600
Senator Anthony Sykes (R) (405) 521-5569
"...Senator Sykes
moved to amend HJR 1056 (see page 18 of this Senate summary) by striking the resolving clause, which amendment was declared adopted..."Nay: Adelson, Eason McIntyre, Johnson (C), Rice and Wilson

As written, this measure will have many unintended consequences that will hurt Oklahoma rather than help it.
