There's an interesting video report "No Answers from Developer of Mosque Near Ground Zero" about Sharif el-Gamal, the CEO and President of SoHo Properties who holds the title to the GZM/Park51 building. He repeatedly dodged questions which, of course, raises even more questions. The report includes an interview with someone who knows him who was fearful to appear on camera without being hidden.
The report showed el-Gamal had help on a loan on a more expensive property from Hisham Elzanaty.
A person with the same name as Hisham Elzanhaty is/was a defendant in a racketeer Influenced and corrupt case in New York filed in 2007. I cannot confirm, at this time, if they are the same person.
