Last Friday, Attorney General Eric Holder gave a speech (DOJ transcript) before an Islamic civil rights organization called Muslim Advocacy. This organization advises Muslims NOT to talk to the FBI and believe FBI undercover tactics must be stopped. They remind me of CAIR who often thinks our government is the problem rather than never ending supply of Muslim terrorists who want to kill us. Do they seriously think we are that stupid?
Muslim Advocates also has filed a lawsuit against the DOJ to obtain the FBI's Domestic Investigative Operational Guidelines to protect, they claim, "religious freedom".
I was pleased to see AG Holder standing very firm and said the need for undercover sting operations to weed out terrorists was effective and necessary. What is highly troubling, though, is the number of Muslim organizations who work against law enforcement. Do they not want these terrorists, who constantly give their religion a bad named, caught? I swear, I don't get it. These kinds of efforts against our government by these highly visible Islamic organization, I think. damage relations and trust with Muslims, in general.
Below is a small excerpt from Holder's speech:
"...Since 2001, more than 400 individuals have been convicted of terrorism and terrorism-related violations in federal courts. And in those terrorism cases where undercover sting operations have been used, there is a lengthy record of convictions.
Our nation's law enforcement professionals have consistently demonstrated not just their effectiveness, but also their commitment to the highest standards of professional conduct, integrity, and fairness.
I make no apologies for the how the FBI agents handled their work in executing the operation that led to Mr. Mohamud's arrest. Their efforts helped to identify a person who repeatedly expressed his desire and intention to kill innocent Americans. As you may have read – and as the affidavit alleges – Mr. Mohamud chose the target location months in advance; provided FBI operatives with bomb components and detailed operational instructions; and repeatedly refused to change course when he was reminded that a large crowd – including children – would be in harm's way.
...Those who characterize the FBI's activities in this case as “entrapment” simply do not have their facts straight - or do not have a full understanding of the law.
Our nation's law enforcement officials deserve our gratitude – and respect. Without their work – and their willingness to place public safety above personal security – government simply could not meet its most critical responsibility of protecting American lives..."
400 convictions? I had no idea it was that high, did you?
Islamic organizations who work against law enforcement tactics to find terrorists are Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood-linked CAIR (Iranian Press TV video posted to CAIR YT page), Muslim Advocates, American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections who claims to represent 10 Islamic organizations but the link to their about page doesn't work.
The more Americans become aware of these organizations and their anti-law enforcement tactics, the better.
