CAIR's anarchist chapter director, Zahra Billoo

The Executive Director of CAIR's chapter in San Francisco, Zahra Billoo, describes herself as an anarchist Muslim on her twitter page.   An anarchist, as most of you know, is someone who rebels against government authority who can sometimes support violence to achieve the end. Of course, I cannot speak about the depth of her anarchist desires.

 

Billoo tweeted a link to article titled Turn Tables on FBI Entrapment of Muslims on December 31st posted on a website called Grande Strategy which outed someone at the FBI in California, it appears.  The article was written by Meinhaj Hussain who is someone unfamiliar to me.  But, the point here is, how blatantly anti-government some of these Islamist groups present themselves.

On the website's about page, it claims it's located in Islamabad, Pakistan but exists only in on-line.  Billoo says she is an American Pakistani. Their Countering Islamophobia: A Political Action Plan explains how to handle the rising tide in the West which they blamed primarily on Zionism.  They added "Rupert Murdoch and News Corp. is a central concern."   Its never because they are called out on their own words and actions, is it?

Then, they praised CAIR: "...One of the best examples has been the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Their National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper is the most competent media spokesman for Muslim in the United States. CAIR has effectively utilized grassroots organization, press releases, internet social networking and direct targeting of government and political organizations."

They continued,"There are a large number of anti-war and pro-Palestine groups that target Zionism. As a start to a political outreach, the following are the top 10 anti-Israel groups, as identified by ADL:

· Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER)
· Al-Awda
· Council on American-Islamic Relations
· Friends of Sabeel-North America
· If Americans Knew
· International Solidarity Movement
· Jewish Voice for Peace
· Muslim American Society
· Students for Justice in Palestine Berkeley Hampshire
· US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation

"Getting face-time in whatever way possible, should be an important aspect of our counter propaganda strategy,"  they explained.  So, Iit's fair to say they believe if you are perceived as likable in a one-on- one meeting then that's half the battle, despite what they may say or do at other times.  They continued, "We must also not shy away from hard ball questions and instead, answer them truthfully and honestly. For instance, pretending that Islam does not condone military jihad in set circumstances, can only hurt our public credibility and create divisions within our community."

One section of this website is devoted to articles supporting an Islamic state and that's where I got the quote I used above.  Under their subheading What the Enemy is Thinking they listed:

Hizb-ut-Tahrir is an Islamic supremacist organization like the Muslim Brothehood, except they are much more open about it.  Shortly after President Obama was elected they came out of the shadows here and created the Hizb-ut-Tahrir America website.  An October article Real change - Khilafah’s establishment will mark the end of American agent rulers ought to get your attention.  A khilafah is an an Islamic state.  Rising Tide of Islamophobia in America blames others as anti-Islamic or fear-mongers despite their own goals to replace the U.S. government with an Islamic state!   Religious freedom does not include the overt goals and plans to overthrow our government.

Americans are much better educated about Islamism. i.e., political Islam and Islamic activism that helps advance it. Those Muslims and organizations who support it may be feeling the heat from this knowledge.  No longer will crying Islamophobic, or bigotry, or Muslim haters be effective when you know your stuff.  Most of the time the names they hurl at others are a sign of their unwillingness to answer questions.  This does not mean that there are not times when Muslims are unfairly targeted by a radom acts of hate but statistics do show the religious group that gets it the most are our Jewish neighbors.   To criticize politcal Islam requires knowledge and is different than criticizing all Muslims or Islam with a broad-brush.

Billoo is married to Davi Barker, an angorist Muslim who is a writer for the Examiner, whose articles like Congressman King’s new McCarthyism and Counter-Terrorism: How America is destroying itself speak volumes.

Billo has been interviewed for commentary by MSNBC, CNN, NRP, Fox News and other TV outlets.  Why in the hell do these media outlets give a platform to an anti-government anarchist Muslim?
