Last Sunday evening, Muneer Awad, the director of CAIR Oklahoma, spoke at an Advocates for Peace Rountable titled
COUNTERING THE WAVE OF ISLAMOPHOBIA put on by left-leaning Okies held in Norman at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church. Other panelists were Malaka Elyazgi, Michael Korenblit, co-founder and president of the Respect Diversity Foundation of Oklahoma; and Nathaniel Batchelder, director of the Peace House in Oklahoma City.
A blogger who writes at Rhology attended this event and even questioned Awad. Rhology was not satisfied with Awad's answers and followed up with an
open letter to Muneer Awad on Monday. This letter was also cross-posted at
Triablogue.
Awad was first questioned about his continous name-calling used at the panel who apparently responded according to Rhology:
"...because it produces a better effect in your audiences."
What??? My personal opinion is that Muneer Awad is a coward, like other CAIR members, who hides behind name calling. We are so on to them.
Rhology was cut-off or interrupted while trying to reference the Quran but was able to have a short discussion about their believe Islam was a false religion, which I think is usually fruitless to do because Muslims think Christianity is falsely based on Jesus being the son of God, so I'm thinking everyone will just go round and round here. But, I found Rhology's response about religious disagreements helpful:
"...disagreement on truth is not equivalent to "Islamophobia" or a desire to execute violent actions against someone with whom one disagrees..."
Brilliant! According to Rhology (thanks for the clarification below), in a private one-one-one conversation after the panel, Awad made it rather clear:
"...You told me that my expression of my position, which disagrees with yours, means that "we can't work together", and the surrounding context of the discussion implied that we can't be neighbors either, nor friends..."
Wow!

Howdy!
And no, Mr. Awad did not say that in front of everyone. It was in the face to face discussion we had after, but I seriously doubt he would have demurred from saying as much if it had come up in public. And the lefties would've swallowed that gem whole and cried for more if he had.
Peace,
Rhology

Thanks for the clarification. I admire your efforts to question Muneer Awad or anyone associated with CAIR. I hope you and many others keep it up and take notes.
