Oklahoma HB 1552 passed the State House in a stunning 76-3 vote on March 17th. The bill is authored by Rep Kern and co-authored by Reps. Reynolds and Ritze. State Senator Anthony Sykes is listed as the author in the Senate. The purpose of the bill is to protect citizens from the enforcement of any judicial ruling that could favor limits on the fudamental rights of citizens. Representatives Mike Shelton, Cory Williams, and Emily Virgin were the state reps who voted against it.
Coincidentially, I just today wrote of a recent case involving a dispute over a mosque by some of its trustees in Florida where the judge ordered they MUST follow sharia law which may have limited the rights of the plantiffs because of that religious restriction.
The main purpose of the Oklahoma bill states:
Any court, arbitration, tribunal, or administrative agency ruling or decision shall violate the public policy of this state and be void and unenforceable if the court, arbitration, tribunal, or administrative agency bases its rulings or decisions in the matter at issue in whole or in part on any law, rule, legal code or system that would not grant the parties affected by the ruling or decision the same fundamental liberties, rights, and privileges granted under the United States and Oklahoma Constitutions.
Had this law been in effect in Florida the Muslim plantiffs may not be locked into a judicial ruling binding them to follow only sharia law as they are now. Therefore, this seems to be a sound protective measure in light of this case and others and the fact there are global movements that want to impose their own restrictive ruling standards and laws on others. This also happened in 2003 in a case in Texas. Sharia law has been used in a growing number of cases in the U.S. but has only been successful in two cases involving arbitration, so far. CAIR Oklahoma has begun a campaign against HB 1552 and whines by using their usual nasty name-calling tactics this bill is anti-Muslim and bigoted and was written by a white supremacist!
CAIR Oklahoma is part of an national organization started by leaders of the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP), an overt arm of the Islamic supremacist Muslim Brotherhood for crying out loud! In 1981, the Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood) founded the Islamic Association for Palestine to serve the cause of Palestine on the political and the media fronts, read a Muslim Brotherhood Internal document (U.S. vs HLF Exhibit 003-0003). In a 1992 Internal memo of the Islamic Association of Palestine states: Download IAP1192 (GOVERNMENT EXHIBIT 3:04-CR-2404 U.S. v. HLF,et., ")...Like other Western, Arab and Islamic arenas, the American arena has seen a move for action for the Palestinian cause by the grace of God and due to the presence of the Islamic Movement and its pioneer the Muslim Brotherhood Movement. The first organizational frame for Islamic action for Palestine came in the beginning of the eighties when the leadership of the Movement decided to establish the "Islamic Association of Palestine in North America".
A former IAP official and CAIR co-founder Omar Ahmed was quoted in 1998 in the San Ramon Valley Herald newspaper that Islam wasn't to be equal to any other faith in America but to be dominate. Ahmad said the Quran should be the highest authority in our country. He was chairman of the Board of CAIR at the time. Download 398Ahmad. Ibrahim Hopper, CAIR's National Communication Director said in 1993 before he joined CAIR "I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future...But I'm not going to do anything violent to promote that. I'm going to do it through education."
So far in 2011. 16 other states have also introduced similar bills.

CAIR's Communication Director: Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR's Communication Director, was an employee of IAP who was quoted by Lou Gelfand in“Reader Says Use of ‘Fundamentalist’ Hurting Muslims,” published in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, April 4, 1993: "...I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future...But I'm not going to do anything violent to promote that.
