A few days ago, I posted a picture taken from the International Space Station on June 12, 2009 of the Srychev Volcano in Russia’s Kuril Islands, which is northeast of Japan. Now, there's a 9 second time-lapse video of this that looks 3-D!
Susan Boyle, the woman with a beautiful voice who captured the hearts of millions on YouTube for her performance on Britain's Got Talent show, sang Cry Me a River in 1999 for a charity CD. It's exquisite.
In the world today, you really have to have a way to balance all the bad stuff or else you'd go crazy.
For me it's my faith, my family and lots of laughing and a deep appreciate of life that works.
Below is one of the funnest, yet cutest, videos I've seen. It never fails to make me laugh. It's a little fuzzy but you probably won't care with that big smile on your face.
There is a really cool video of a metal ball dropping into a container of sand. To watch it click here (opens to a Quick Time video). You won't be sorry.
This particular clip has some amazing overhead shots of the Washington Mall on inauguration day. The video clip of the "UFO" is analyzed in several different way.
This video is tagged for comedy on YouTube. It shows how one bank is seriously rigged to protect itself from a robbery. It's something and the would-be robber found out real quick.
I want to wish all my readers and their families a most wonderful Christmas - or holiday break.
Thank you for your support. It means a great deal to me.
For Christians, this time of year is to honor the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please don't let Christ be absent during the holiday, for if we do, we have lost sight of the true meaning of Christmas.
Richard Holdman lives in gated community in Utah. This year they voted not to allow the gates to remain open so cars could drive by to see his home all festively decorated for Christmas. Bah humbug, I say!
So, instead of giving up he moved his light show display to some land his parents own. And get this, it's 100% wind powered, he said!
Watch this surveillance video of a child climbing into a toy vending machine in the UK. It's amazing how easy it was for this little tot. This happened in January.
Today, a young boy had to be rescued for doing the same thing in Australia!
Our Father in Heaven, We give thanks for the pleasure Of gathering together for this occasion. We give thanks for this food Prepared by loving hands. We give thanks for life, The freedom to enjoy it all And all other blessings. As we partake of this food, We pray for health and strength To carry on and try to live as You would have us. This we ask in the name of Christ, Our Heavenly Father.
If you didn't get a chance to watch the lighting of the torch at the Olympics last night, I found a video of it. The last man to get the torch as it was taken around the stadium was hoisted up to the very top of the stadium where a large video started rolling across the top perimeter. The man then starts running in air as he was moved along with the video all around the entire top of the stadium! The video isn't as clear as it was on my TV but you can see it fairly well.
It was nice, wasn't it, to see so many nations join together as one. It was the best opening I believe I've ever seen.
This was posted by datboymike1 on You Tube. He's 15.
Oh, yeah. This is an awesome video about the men and women who make our military the great power it is today! Their hard work, which always is for the pursuit of freedom, must never be forgotten.
I've been trying to find the video I saw yesterday of the huge rainbow over the nation's capitol that appeared shortly after Tim Russert's memorial service where they had just heard "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" played by Bruce Springstein. It was breathtaking. I did find a picture of the rainbow.
Update 6/20/08: Success at last! The video of this beautiful rainbow can be viewed here (watch a commerical first) or here (commercial free).
While looking for the video, I came across a video of a gifted musician, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, who also performed "Somewhere over the Rainbow. It kind of fits in with everything. this video a memorial to Israel who passed away in 1997.
Magnetic fields are invisible, at least usually. But Scientists from NASA's Space Sciences Laboratory have made them visible as "animated photographs," using sound-controlled CGI and 3D compositing. It makes the fields, as explained by the scientists, dance in an absolutely gorgeous movie called Magnetic Movie.
On April 25, 1976, during a game at Dodger Stadium, two protesters, a man and his son, ran into the outfield and tried to set fire to an American flag they had brought with them.

To change things up a bit, I found the entire Twilight Zone season one and two online at CBS.com! The show aired on the CBS television network from 1959 to 1964.
Here is a link to the first episode, Where is Everybody? One slight annoyance, there is a commercial or two in the video.
Not only that, but Star Trek season 1, 2 and 3 are online as well. Treakkers will be so happy but probably already know about it, I'm sure.
On this day in 1973, Lt. Commander John McCain was released from a North Vietnamese prison.
The missile that shot down his fighter-bomber broke both arms and a leg, and he nearly drowned after parachuting into a lake. He was then bayoneted and beaten. McCain refused his captors' demands that he divulge military information in return for medical treatment. Despite being tortured, McCain also refused repeated offers from the communists to free him ahead of other servicemen who had been imprisoned longer.
The pilot of this jet had to abort an attempted landing in Germany after touching down a couple of time because of severe cross-winds! The Airbus A320-200 Lufthansa nearly crashed during a crosswind approach on the runway 23 at the airport Hamburg International (EDDH) on March 1st, 2008 in Germany. The left wing appears to have grazed or touched the runway, at one point. After that he tries again and then guns the engines to get it back into the air. It was an instant and correct decision on his part. Thankfully, he had enough speed to get it back up. I can only imagine how the passengers felt, swaying to and fro, and I'm sure were very thankful for the skill of their pilot. He landed it safely after about 15 minutes.
You can see him seriously "crabbing" (turning into the wind) as he approaches.
