Lawsuit against the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas linked CAIR tossed

The Council of American Islamic Relations, a group linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas by our federal government,  is indeed happy today.  A lawsuit filed by radio personality, Michael Savage, against their efforts to destroy his career was tossed yesterday by a federal judge in San Francisco.  I assume CAIR will continue their war against Michael Savage.

Savage's crime?  According to CAIR he was disrespectful to Islam. He is a bigot and anti-Muslim they said.  Now,  I personally wouldn't have said what he did or used the tone he did.  Savage is a sensationalist, pure and simple.

See,  no one needs to talk hateful about Islam.  Rather, one just has to study how Islamists believe Islam should be the only religion in the world and that Islamic rule is the only answer.  Knowing who these Islamist organizations and individuals are who have infiltrated our country is critical.  No need to be hateful about it.

U.S. District Judge Susan Illston was the deciding judge in this case.  She is a Clinton appointee.

I can't provide you a link to a story on this that wasn't done by the Associated Press.  I will not use any story done by them because of their stupid attitude towards bloggers who excerpt from their articles.

The Associated Press lashes out at bloggers

The Associated Press doesn't like bloggers referring to their articles in their blogs.  They even went so far as to ask one blogger, the Drudge Retort,  to cease and desist from this - even as it related to a comment made by a reader who used a few words from an AP story with a link to it to make their point.

The timing of this seems suspect as the general election looms ahead of us.

Beta News has a lot of good information about this here.  Apparently, AP will meet with the Media Bloggers Association tomorrow.  AP seeks to charge anyone who uses as few as 5 words from an AP article in their blog.

Personally, I think their concerns are stupid.  If a blogger correctly uses an excerpt of an article for foundation and reference in a post it is likely some of the readers will click on the AP link and read the entire story - bringing more readers to the original story that would not have read it on their own.  Duh, traffic to a website determines how much advertizing revenue a website can charge.  Could the AP's action actually be like shooting themselves in the foot?

Although I'm not a power blogger, with thousands of people reading my blog everyday,  I plan not to reference or link to any AP stories going forward as long as they have this strange mindset.

I encourage others to do the same.

Update from other websites:

  • So here's our new policy on A.P. stories: they don't exist. We don't see them, we don't quote them, we don't link to them. They're banned until they abandon this new strategy, and I encourage others to do the same until they back down from these ridiculous attempts to stop the spread of information around the Internet.   TechCrunch
  • But I’ll gladly join this movement; until the AP climbs down from this caveman approach, there will be no more links to AP stories in front page articles at LGF.  Little Green Footballs
  • Click here to sign petition now! This is not about Left or Right - this is about Wrong - let's make multipartisan blogger buzz and let AP hear all political bloggers loud and clear! Banners are available below!  unassocatedpress

`Blogger Protection Act of 2008'

FYI:

A 2007 report (pdf) found that, in 2006, almost one out of three Americans – more than 60 million people – used the Internet to get political news and information and to discuss campaign races. Over half of Internet users say that they use it because of the amount of information and perspectives that are available – something not easily or cheaply available through more traditional forms of media.

In Montana, we have blogs of every flavor. Some are supportive of conservative ideals, while others are critical. Some write about local issues and some focus on federal matters. Some focus on policy while others concentrate on politics. Whether I agree with them or not, it’s always important to remember that these blogs are written by everyday Montanans. They are the Voice of the People. It’s important we protect that freedom.

One way I’m doing this is by supporting H.R. 5699, the Blogger Protection Act of 2008, a bill which would protect Montana’s bloggers from the unnecessary intrusion of Washington, DC bureaucrats.

Embed your playlists - from Imeem

This is a test post that shows an embedded playlist from a website that I learned about from Little Green Footballs.  This isn't my playlist but one I found.  You can upload videos, pictures and music and then embed them into your blog or website.  Great to share with family and friends.

The website is called imeem.  I created an account and uploaded some music but ran into a clitch.  I can't access it until I receive a verification e-mail after the upload.  It says you will get it in about 15 minutes but its been about a hour and no e-mail.  So we will see.

It's cool, isn't it?

Blogger has 1st Amendment right to anonymous speech court rules

This is good news for 1st amendment rights:

Manalapan, NJ: A Superior Court judge in New Jersey quashed a bogus subpoena for the identity of an anonymous blogger Friday, protecting the free speech rights of a critic writing about a local government controversy.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) represented the anonymous blogger, known as "daTruthSquad," on a site hosted by Google's Blogspot service. After the blogger strongly criticized a malpractice lawsuit filed by the township of Manalapan against its former city attorney, the township subpoenaed Google for "daTruthSquad's" identity, as well as for any emails, blog drafts, and other information Google had about the blogger. In a hearing Friday, Superior Court Judge Terence Flynn quashed the subpoena, ruling that the blogger had a First Amendment to anonymous speech.

"We're grateful that Judge Flynn upheld the First Amendment rights of our client and recognized that anonymous speakers should not be intimidated into silence through the discovery process," said EFF Staff Attorney Matt Zimmerman. "Now 'daTruthSquad' can continue to discuss township business without fear of government reprisal."

More from Judge Flynn's ruling from the bench.

The idenity of another anonymous blogger is being sought in Chicago: A Chicago lawyer who is being criticized, along with his law firm, in an anonymous Internet blog supposedly authored by a fellow attorney has offered a $10,000 reward to anyone who can provide him with the identity of "Troll Tracker."

Israel Bloggers may be held accountable

I found this from a blogger named Carl who has the blog "Israel Matzav" which is located in Israel:

Israel to go after bloggers?

A bill introduced in the Israeli Knesset would make bloggers responsible for all content on their sites, including the comments:

Web site owners or editors will be legally responsible for any content on their site, including comments made in talkbacks and message boards, a bill passed on Sunday by the Ministerial Committee on Legislation states.

According to the bill, which was drafted by MK Israel Hasson (Israel Beiteinu) web sites could be absolved of liability if they agree to reveal the details of posters.

While the bill still needs to be approved in three readings in the Knesset plenum, receiving the support of the Ministerial Committee on Legislation gives it a much higher chance of passing into law.

I'm sorry to tell you folks, but if this goes through, I will have to seriously consider shutting off the comments (which is probably exactly what our fascist government wants).

Update 9:35 PM

Consider that two months ago an Israeli court forced Google's blogspot (my host) to disclose the identity of a blogger who committed the 'crime' of 'slandering' a member of a local council. This is not good folks. Can anyone say "chilling effect"?

British blogger, Lionheart, says he will be arrested

I found this posted on a blog called Lionheart, which, if it is true, is quite disturbing.  This blogger is in Britain and writes about the dangers of Islamism which the blogger believes is destroying Britain slowly day by day.

Just yesterday I wrote about a blogger in Saudi Arabia who was arrested but never in my wildest dreams would I believe anyone from Britain would be arrested for writing about the dangers of Islamism.  Islamism is the War on Terror.

Meknight1_2

I am currently out of the Country and on my return home to England I am going to be arrested by British detectives on suspicion of Stirring up Racial Hatred by displaying written material" contrary to sections 18(1) and 27(3) of the Public Order Act 1986.

This charge if found guilty carries a lengthy prison sentence, more than what most paedophiles and rapists receive, and all for writing words of truth about the barbarity that is living in the midst of our
children, which threatens the very future of our Country.

The cultural
weapon in the hands of the modern Jihad within Great Britain, silencing the opposition using our own laws against us - The Dumb Filthy Kaffir's as the Moslem would say to his children behind closed doors.

What has become of my homeland, the land my forefathers fought and died for on the battlefields of the world when one of their children is forced into the position of facing years in prison for standing up for what is right and just within British society.

At least my words of truth have obviously now reached people's eyes and ears, with the powers that be now intent on silencing me - Third World Tyranny in a supposed 21st Century democracy! How dare any Moslem try and silence the truth from being told by an Englishman about the
Islamic enemy in our midst within the British homeland.

Who have I killed, who have I threatened to kill? No one, all I have done is written about my reality on a computer screen, and now I face going to prison in my own country for standing up for myself and others.

What has happened to those who
threatened my life or who have killed my friends - NOTHING - This is British justice in the 21st Century - Shove your British Labour justice because it is worthless to the Englishman whose country this is, whose country you have destroyed.

How dare those power hungry fools seek to silence me or anyone else like me from speaking the truth for the sake of our children, grandchildren and the future of our homeland, who do they think they are, they are nothing more than mere men like the rest of us, just in positions of power over us that they totally abuse against us, look at the treason that has happened within Brussels by Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, handing over the Sovereignty of our Nation into foreign hands - Treason is the only word for it yet no one is arresting them, no they are arresting me for writing a few words of truth on a blog.I did not wake up one morning and think I hate Moslems and start my blog, I do not have a racist disposition as this blog is not a race issue it is a Religious issue, I had my life threatened and this blog is the result.

I know that there are many people around the World who view my blog, that there are many bloggers and site owners who are also fighting the online Jihad to raise awareness of this global Islamic Holy War that has been declared against us that our governments are trying to pretend is not happening, and I ask for your help to raise awareness of my personal plight.

I do not want to go to prison for many years for standing up for my children and other childrens futures, it is an injustice within what is supposed to be a civilized democratic society and people need to know what is happening, that my government is now seeking to silence me from speaking the truth about the war that has been declared against us all.

Today it is me and my blog and tomorrow it is you and your blog.

A followup from Lionheart's attorney posted this:

QUOTE FROM IAN HOLDEN, BEDFORDSHIRE POLICE

The offence that I need to arrest you for is “Stir up Racial Hatred by displaying written material” contrary to sections 18(1) and 27(3) of the Public Order Act 1986.

You will be arrested on SUSPICION of the offence. You would only be charged following a full investigation based on all the relevant facts and CPS consent.

Paul I will see you on the 19/02/08 when I will tell you everything that you need to know. Due to being out of the office for six weeks I will not have access to my email as of tomorrow 04/01/08.

More has been written here

In Britain, Channel 4,  did a multi-part documentary on Islamism which got them in trouble - not the Muslims who were/are preaching religious hatred.  You can read more about this at the link above.  More is written here.

What appears to be happening in some cases is that you can get in trouble or arrested for reporting the truth about certain Islamic teachings that are taking place which preaches religious hatred of others.  The fact is there are Koranic teachings that lie behind the concept of jihad and these hateful teachings.  It doesn't seem to matter that the teachings are occurring, but if you report about it, that's when you get in trouble.  Shocking.

This is very dangerous for the free world.
