Responding to "Proud Muslim" again

For a few weeks now, I've been having an online "conversation" with a Tulsa Muslim with the online name of Proud Muslim.  I decided to put all this on a webpage so you can follow along if you like from the beginning of these comments here which I will update when new comments are made.  Below is a recent comment I made:

zTruth:  Quoting from Proud Muslim:  "Being martyred protecting Islam is a good thing..."

Proud Muslim:  If someone attacked what I stood for, I would risk my life to protect it. That's what we did in the Revolutionary War. That's what we did in the Civil War. That's what we did in the Civil Rights Movement. That's what we did in World War I. That's what we did in World War II. Maybe you find our nation's history worrying and extreme. I don't.

zTruth:  Proud Muslim, it appears you would take the law into your own hands to defend Islam, if you felt it necessary.  You also compared your right to do so to the wars America has fought and other struggles where no religious doctrine was involved. Your apples to oranges comparison is way out there.

There is no correlation between religion and violence you said.   Did we not just review one part of the Quran that contradicts this?  Did you not say If someone attacked what you stood for, you would risk your life to protect it?  In this context, you were talking about fighting and protecting Islam.

The two Muslim Brotherhood leaders whom the Islamic Society of Tulsa has presented to Oklahomans as religious authorities have both affirmed their belief in martyrdom against Israel.

Yusef Qaradawi has endorsed Palestinian suicide bombings for twenty years. These attacks have also been sanctioned by numerous Islamic clerics.

Question: I would like to ask about the ruling of Palestinian women carrying out martyr operations.

Dr. Qaradawi answers:The martyr operation is the greatest of all sorts of jihad in the cause of Allah.  A martyr operation is carried out by a person who sacrifices himself, deeming his life [of] less value than striving in the cause of Allah, in the cause of restoring the land and preserving the dignity. To such a valorous attitude applies the following Qur'anic verse: "And of mankind is he who would sell himself, seeking the pleasure of Allah; and Allah hath compassion on (His) bondmen." (Qur'an, 2: 207)

Jamal Badawi:  First, the intent behind that sacrifice (martyrdom) is exclusively for the sake of pleasing God and supporting His cause.  Recently,  Badawi was quoted in the paper saying what is wrong with fighting to establish justice in Islam?

Proud Muslim, you claim no knowledge about Yusef Qaradawi or Jamal Badawi yet reads the Quran only in Arabic.  Odd.

Your new Imam, Mohamed ElGhobashy, hails from Al-Azhar University.  Shaikh Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi, the Shaikh of Al-Azhar, the highest ranking religious official in Egypt, also called for Jihad against Israel ‘in defence of the holy places, the liberation of the occupied land, and the repulsion of the enemy.’  

Yet, Imam ElGhobashy said in a recent interview in the Tulsa World, "We should show this beautiful religion of mercy and peace to others," and then blamed the American media as the cause of misunderstanding about Muslims for labeling them terrorists!    Of course, not ALL Muslims are terrorists but he wants us to think there are no Muslim terrorists.

Here is the quote from ElGhobashy:

"...On the down side, he said, in recent years, the American media has propagated misunderstandings about Muslims, labeling them as terrorists.

"It makes me sad that Islam is presented as a religion of terror," he said, citing a verse from the Quran that Islam is to be a religion of peace and mercy for all humanity, including non-Muslims..."

You said there is no correlations between violence and religion?  Proud Muslim, I'm afraid there is with Islam and many of your religion's Islamic authorities approve of it.  They call it justice.  In the name of Islam, they take the law into their own hands.

Americans, particularly public officials, are being shamed to dare even link Islam to terrorism or call it what it is.  Yet many just quote your own religious authorities.

And on the new "Islam in Oklahoma" web-page by the Islamic Society of Tulsa and the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City they wrote on their "War and fighting in Islam" section under  (3 bullet) that its meaning includes "fighting" to establish justice which is a supreme goal in Islam.  Missing from this page is any statement that the laws within our country negate ANY jihadist goals of Islam.

Islam does have a written creed for war and fighting and it is in the Quran.  

Proud Muslim also lamented that women are now separated from the men when they pray at the mosque at the Islamic Society of Tulsa.  This is because a strict version of Sunni Islam is being practiced there.  They call it authentic Islam which is probably a strict interpretation of the Quran.  

IST's deed is held by the North American Islamic Trust, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land terror funding trial.  Your mosque is permanently affiliated with the Islamic Society of North America, also named an unindicted co-conspirator.  This organization was specifically named in a Muslim Brotherhood document as one of their organizations set up in America.

And finally, the person they selected to speak for them as their Quranic expert this year was named by the FBI as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood's board of directors for their North American operations.  Jamal Badawi is also an unindicted co-conspirator.

Yet, Proud Muslim calls me narrow-minded.

Update:

Proud Muslim later clarified his/her statement about risking his/her life to the death.

"You seem to have misunderstood my comparison. In the Civil War, we fought to preserve the Union and end slavery. Why? Because that is what America stood for.
If you attacked my right to worship God, I would defend it with protests, marches, etc."

Oklahoma Islamic societies: War & fighting in Islam

The Islamic societies of Tulsa and Oklahoma City have joined together to create a "Islam in Oklahoma" page where they have a section called "War and fighting in Islam".

This page starts off:  "Does Islam command its followers to wage war against unbelievers or kill them with out provocation?  Absolutely not"! 

It goes on to state Islam forbids the taking of any human life except for a just cause under the law---i.e., capital punishment for convicted murderers, fighting in wartime, or self-defense. "

Further down the page under their "What is Jihad? What is Not Jihad?" section they wrote the Islamic meaning of jihad does include fighting to establish justice which is a supreme goal in Islam, which was not mentioned in their opening paragraph about the conditions they listed there for fighting.  It's concerning because justice, according to Islam, could be at odds with justice of non-Islamic societies and people.

In any event. you can see Islam has a written creed for war and fighting against others as outlined briefly by the Islamic societies of Greater Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

It would be helpful to have these two societies in Oklahoma issue a joint statement on this page condemning the 20 years of religious rulings by Yusef Qaradawi, the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, allowing the killing of woman and children in Israel and for martyrdom operations there. 

Since some of their associations appear to have connections with or to the Muslim Brotherhood, this needs to be addressed as it conflicts with their war and fighting page.  The Islamic Society of Tulsa even has a link to an explanation about Jihad written by Muslim Brotherhood leader, Jamal Badawi on their website. 

Badawi serves under the chairmanship of Yusef Quaradwi on several Islamic organization and is open about his ties to the Muslim Brotherhood at the Muslim Association of Canada!

• Islamonline:  This website is chaired by terror supporter Yusef Qaradawi, the supreme spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood who has issued religious ruling approving of martyrdom operations within Israel, including the killing of women and children for over twenty years.
• CAIR:  Its foundation came from the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas infrastructure in America.  Their articles are often featured on Qaradawi's Islamonline.
• Islamic Circle of North America:  Muslim Brother/Hamas.  Screen shots of their website shows they gave tens of thousands of dollars to Hamas in 2006!  ICNA runs a website, Why Islam 
• Islamic Society of North America:  started with the help of terror-supporter Sami Al-Arian.  Al-ARian plead guilty to aiding the Palestinian Islamic Jihad - a group bent on the destruction of Israel.
• Muslim American Society:  an overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.  Michelle Malkin and Dr. Omeish, MAS President,  were on the Laura Ingram Show on Oct. 2006 to discuss prison radicalization in the U.S., which you can read about here. 

  "...What is the overall goal here?  To establish a Caliphate?  Laura asks.  In the greater context yes, Omeish said..."

• Islamic Relief Foundation:  They main focus appears to be to aid the people in Hamas-controlled Gaza

Every one of the organizations the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City selected to use are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas infrastructure in America.  These organizations are often given press by the MSM where they portray themselves as moderate Islamic groups since this is the image they want you to believe.  There is abundant evidence to the contrary.

In addition ISGOC feature a link to the Islamic Book Store.  Here there are numerous books about Jihad including Whabbi Islam:  From Revival and Reform to Global Jihad.  Books by Muslim Brotherhood leaders, Yusef Qaradawi and Jamal Badawi and also available.

Tulsa World fails to provide context to CAIR

The Tulsa World  is the only major newspaper in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Yesterday and today it ran the exact same follow-up article about CAIR-OK's effort to force Abercrombie & Fitch clothing store to accept the Muslim headscarf without question.  The two articles are here and here.  Why would they put this in twice?

Oh well, I'm quite happy to take advantage of another opportunity to provide further context to the Council of American Islamic Relations or CAIR. 

Someone has to do it because the Tulsa World won't.

The Council of American Islamic Relations is an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas infrastructure in America.  There is massive amount of documentation that has firmly established this fact.

Oklahomans need to know about CAIR's efforts to come to the aid of Sami-Al-Arian - a convicted terror supporter!  He admitted he was involved with the Muslim Brotherhood and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a Specially Designated Terrorist.  

Most likely, if and when, Al-Arian gets deported he will be named a top leader in Hamas like his counter-part Mousa Marzook, now a U. S. designated global terrorist.  Like Al-Arian, Marzook was supported strongly by CAIR at the time of his arrest in our country found in a Justice Forum: Newsletter of the Marzook Legal Fund dated June 1996.

Did CAIR ever make a statement condemning Al-Arian's activities with a global terrorist organization?  I can't find one.

CAIR also came out firmly against our government a mere six days before 9/11 after a raid on Infocom, an Islamic company located in Texas which served many major global Islamic organizations.

"...American Muslims view yesterday's action as just one of a long list of attempts by the pro-Israel lobby to intimidate and silence all those who wish to see Palestinian Muslims and Christians free themselves of a brutal Apartheid-like occupation. We believe the genesis of this raid lies not in Washington, but in Tel Aviv.

"Hundreds of innocent American businesses and citizens are being harmed by the government's actions. This incident can only serve to marginalize millions of American Muslims who are committed to the betterment of our diverse society

..."It is disturbing that American law enforcement agencies are now perceived by American Muslims and Arab-Americans as being tools in the hands of a foreign government. Our elected officials must not allow Israel to import its unjust and discriminatory policies to this country or to mislabel peaceful challenges to those policies as 'support for terrorism.'"

I find it concerning that most,  if not all Islamic societies in Oklahoma,  chose to hook up with CAIR.  There are many civil rights groups in America without CAIR's Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas related baggage. 

CAIR board member, Jamal Badawi, is a known Muslim Brotherhood member who approves of martyrdom operations.  Shiek Yusef Qaradawi, the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood has openly approved of martyrdom operations in Israel, which includes the killing of woman and children for around twenty years.

Last year Badawi attended a conference honoring Qaradawi where a top Hamas leader Khalid Mishaal praised Qaradawi on his religious rulings on martyrdom of which there is a video.

Does the name Badawi ring a bell?  He is the Islamic scholar the Islamic Society of Tulsa selected to represent them to the public in a debate this past January.  Why they selected a known member of the Muslim Brotherhood who approves martyrdom operations to represent them is most concerning.

All this tends to put a major ding in CAIR's and the Islamic Society of Tulsa's statements against "all forms of terrorism".

Andrew Rice's praise for CAIR clouds appeal for Christian voters

Andrew Rice released his first campaign commercial this week.  It's a short 30 seconds spot designed to appeal to the religious base, primarily Christians,  in Oklahoma.  It also follows the theme of the Democratic party that blames all that is wrong with our country at the feet of the Republicans - just like most Islamists.

Readers of zTruth know that Andrew Rice spoke at the first Council of American Islamic Relations fund raising banquet in Oklahoma last November.  Rice praised their work and CAIR claimed they raised over $50,000. 

CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land terror funding case because of their link to the Muslim Brotherhood and/or Hamas which is well documented by audio, video and other documents.  CAIR has never denied this relation,  that I'm aware. 

Now this is what concern me.  Virtually all of the Islamic societies in Oklahoma have aligned themselves with CAIR.  Scary.

Currently, CAIR has an action alert out for Sami Al-Arian, the co-founder of  the Islamic Association of Palestine, an organization shut down for their terror connections.  Several employees of IAP started CAIR and two or three are still there in top leadership positions.  Al-Arian is a convinced terror supporter that CAIR has accused our government of holding him a political prisoner.   The other co-founder of IAP was Mousa Marzook, the current Deputy Political Chief of Hamas.

CAIR has never condemned the actions of Al-Arian or Marzook, that I can find.

So the question that begs to be asked: Why are a good number of Democrats friends of Islamists?

Is the Oklahoma Governor's Ethnic American Advisory Council meeting in secret?

The Oklahoma Governor's Ethnic/Muslim American Advisory Council was thrown into the national spotlight last fall when they offered Oklahoma legislators copies of the Quran, complete with the State of Oklahoma seal on it, as a gift to commemorate Oklahoma's 100th anniversary of statehood.  A big furor developed as some legislators took offensive to their offer of their religious book from a council created by the governor. The separation between mosque and state seemed blurred, to say the least.

Why was this council using government resources, government meeting room and personnel from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM),  for their meetings with the perceived goal to advance Islam within the state of Oklahoma?  The council's own chair, Marjaneh Seirafi-Pour, said the purpose of the council was to build the understanding of Islam in one of the local papers.  I hasten to add they try to teach us about a version of Islam which is not practice in any Islamic country from which they might be from. 

It became very uncomfortable for Oklahomans when Rep. Mike Reynolds reported to the public over $100,000 had been given to politicians by one council member and his family, including Governor Brad Henry, who created the council at their request. 

Attorney Zia Muneer wrote Reynolds as a result:  “...Your ignorance of contributions by Muslims and other Middle Easterners to our state and nation point to the continued need for EEAC here in Oklahoma.”  

His ignorance?  You can't get much more condescending.

Now, it comes to light the minutes of their meetings have not been posted for over a year in violation of the Open Meeting Law, section 312.   

The proceedings of a public body shall be kept by a person so designated by such public body in the form of written minutes which shall be an official summary of the proceedings showing clearly those members present and absent, all matters considered by the public body, and all actions taken by such public body. The minutes of each meeting shall be open to public inspection and shall reflect the manner and time of notice required by this act.

If the minutes aren't posted online how can they be open for public inspection?  It was announced at the February 2007 meeting by Ms. Brenda Thornton of the OPM that the minutes for the past year were now available online,  (download Feb2007Minutes.pdf see item J in the attached minutes I saved before they were taken off the Internet). These were the last minutes available. Clearly the intent was to provide the public easy access to the minutes.  But now missing are the minutes from the May 18, 2007 meeting and the agendas and minutes for all subsequent meetings in 2007 and the February, March and May meetings, or every meeting so far for 2008. 

Amazing isn't it the missing minutes correspond to around the time of the Quran flap?  If ever there was a time to post these minutes online for public review, it's now since many Oklahomans are looking at this council's actions and intent,  but clearly it's not happening.  To prevent the public from knowing apparently is the goal now.

The Open Meetings Act also states the agenda is to be posted 24 hour (item 9) in advance of the meeting which also isn't being done.  Why?

What's going on here?  The public has the right to read the agenda before each meeting and to know what transpired at the meetings via the minutes. The Open Meeting Act states the purpose of the act enacted for the public benefit and is to be construed liberally in favor of the public.  Whatever reason this has not been done is concerning and utterly fails the interest of the public.  There is no excuse.

The last agenda available was for their May 18th, 2007 meeting which listed the Council of American Islamic Relations, an organization that grew out of the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas infrastructure in the U.S.,  an item on the agenda to be discussed. What?  One member of the council, Dr. Fayyaz H. Hashmi, is highly likely a relative of the new director of CAIR-OK, Razi Hashmi.   Are you paying attention?

The deliberate act not to allow the public easy access to the minutes and agenda of this council or any council, as intended, certainly doesn't serve the best interest of the public and gives the appearance of secrecy and cover for this controversial council. 

Oklahomans should be asking their elected officials why this is happening.

Update:  6/2/08:  The Office of Personnel Management has now removed all minutes and agenda for this council and reversed themselves on posting them online.  It's quite obvious their intent is not to make the minutes readily available to the public, as intended by the Open Meeting Act. 

Shame on the Office of Personnel Management.

Nihad Awad: Islamic Association of Palestine-CAIR-CAIR-OK

 

Shame on the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City.

The Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City plans to show a disturbingly anti-Israel film called Occupation 101 to "educate" people of all religions about the conflict between Israel and Palestine.  They would have you believe this film presents the whole truth and nothing but the truth.  Nothing could be further from the truth. 

Does the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City not realize that 90% or so of Oklahomans are Christians or Jewish and support Israel because of our Biblical believes?  Our foreign policy also reflects our long-standing support and believe for Israel.  It's insulting to every Oklahoma Christian and Jew for the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City to show this biased film as a documentary of the truth.

It was the Arab world who rejected the two state solution offered by the UN back in 1948.  It is the Arab world who says the Palestinians is the rightful owner of Israel even though much is written about Israel, its children and its land backed up with historic artifacts and Biblical references. 

The Islamic Ottoman Empire collasped around 1917 after expansions that took land away from many. 

History of Palestine/UN:

The Palestine  problem became an international issue towards the end of the First World War with the disintegration of the Turkish Ottoman Empire.  Palestine was among the several former Ottoman Arab territories which were placed  under the administration of Great Britain under the Mandates System adopted by the League of Nations pursuant to the League's Covenant.

The UN stepped in to create the soverign state of Israel.  Remember it was the Israelis who were forced from their land during the expansion of the Ottoman Empire:

THE STATE OF ISRAEL will be open for Jewish immigration and for the Ingathering of the Exiles; it will foster the development of the country for the benefit of all its inhabitants; it will be based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel; it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.  1947-48

The oppression the Palestinians is primarily the result of the Arab's world refusal to the UN's two-state solution.  They forced the Palestinains to remain segregated from the rest of Middle East society as they never recognized Israel's right to exist.  Palestinians had an opportunity to live in peaceful harmony, side by side with Israel but this option was refused. 

The Arab world denies Bibically references to Israel.  A holy book that far, far outdates the Quran.

Think about it, no where in the Bible or the Quran is Palestine ever mentioned.  Why?  It didn't exist. Israel, however, did exist and is referenced in both books.

2:47 Children of Israel! call to mind the favour which I bestowed upon you, and that I preferred you to all other nations. 2:122 O Children of Israel! call to mind the favor which I bestowed upon you, and that I preferred you to all other nations.

7:137 And We made the children of Israel, who were considered weak (and of no account), inheritors of lands in both east and west, - lands whereon We sent down Our blessings. The fair promise of thy Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because they had patience and constancy, and We leveled to the ground the great works and fine
buildings which Pharaoh and his people erected (with such pride).

17:104 And We said thereafter to the Children of Israel, "Dwell securely in the land of promise":

10:93 We settled the Children of Israel in a beautiful dwelling-place, and provided for them sustenance of the best: it was after knowledge had been granted to them.

20:80 O ye Children of Israel! We delivered you from your enemy, and We made a Covenant with you to give you the right side (the blessed side) of Mount Sinai, and We sent down to you Manna (special food) and quails.

26:59 Thus it was, but We made the Children of Israel inheritors of such things (the promised land)

45:16 We did aforetime grant to the Children of Israel the Book the Power of Command, and Prophet hood; We gave them, for Sustenance, things good and pure; and We favored them above all other nations.

44: 32 And We have chosen them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamîn (mankind, and jinns) and our choice was based on a deep knowledge.

32.23] And certainly We gave the Book to Moses, so be not in doubt concerning the receiving of it, and We made it a guide for the children of Israel.
[32.24] And We made of them Guiding Lights and leaders to guide by Our command as they were patient, and they were certain of Our communications.

[17:104] And we said to the Children of Israel afterwards, “ scatter and live all over the world…and when the end of the world is near we will gather you again into the Promised Land”.

Documentary on Middle East conflict to be shown The Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City will show the award-winning documentary "Occupation 101: The Root Cause of the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict” at 6 p.m. May 17 at Harkins Bricktown 16, 150 E Reno.

Tickets are $5 per person.
