The first Muslim elected to the United States Congress, Keith Ellison, aka Keith Hakim, Keith X Ellison and Keith Ellison Muhammad, attended the Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia earlier this month. His wife, a Catholic, stayed home. Non-Muslims are not allowed in Mecca.
A Minnesota Star reporter, Mitch Anderson, wrote on December 18th the trip was paid for by the Muslim American Society, which he simple mentions (see page 2, 3rd paragraph from bottom: Minnesota Star). Some experts believe MAS is an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Powerline pointed out that three days earlier this same reporter wrote that Ellison's aide, Rick Jauert, said Ellison paid for the trip himself (last sentence).
Apparently, Ellison told the reporter MAS paid for his trip while his aide either covered for him or simple assumed Ellison paid for it himself. Who knows.
In June, Ellison told the left-leaning National Conference for Media Reform that former President Ronald Reagan made him sick but not as much as Bush does now. He also made a few choice comments about American imperialism.

In July, Ellison was also video-taped comparing President Bush to Hitler!
And let's not forget, Ellison is currently featured in an article about Muslim activism in America on terror-supporter and Muslim Brotherhood supreme spiritual leader Yusef Qaradawi's Islamonline where I found the photo of him that I used above.
Ellison was reelected to his second term in November.

A rare look at secretive Brotherhood in America Chicago Tribune (see page 5)
"...In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation's major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members.
Some wanted the Brotherhood to remain underground, while others thought a more public face would make the group more influential. Members from across the country drove to regional meeting sites to discuss the issue..."

2007 article about the Muslim Brotherhood in the Dallas Morning News:
"...Mahdi Bray, director of the Washington, D.C.-based Muslim American Society's Freedom Foundation, which promotes Muslim civil rights, called the Holy Land documents "a throwback." ...He said members of MAS decided in 1993, when the organization was founded, that they would pursue political and nonviolent tactics.
"I wouldn't be candid if I didn't say there weren't some old-timers who want to hold onto the old way, who say that this is the way the Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood) did it, this should be our model," he said. "We said 'So what? It doesn't work here.' We've been very adamant about that."
