Rita Katz is a terrorist hunter online. She is the co-founder of the SITE Institute, a private intelligence firm based in Washington, DC which focuses on tracking global terrorist networks. In 2008, the non-profit Site Institute was disbanded and a for-profit Site Intelligence Group was formed.
Born in Iraq to a Jewish family, Katz witnessed her father's arrest on charges for spying for Israel. Fortunately for her family, they moved to America. In America, she eventually went undercover and posed as a Muslim which she wrote about in her book Terrorist Hunter: The Extraordinary Story of a Woman Who Went Undercover to Infiltrate the Radical Islamic Groups Operating in America. In her book, she wrote about Taqiyya, which is the act of deception in Islam in order to advance or protect it.
