The Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (AMJA) is the second Islamic ruling organization that I am aware of in America. There could be more. The other one is the Fiqh Council of North America, which has known Muslim Brotherhood members on it. Let there be no doubt that Islamists have set up networks for their Islamic ruling system and organizations and will likely try to push forward, in the years to come, a shadow legal system just for Muslims, one ruling at a time.
It is up to us to become more educated about these organizations and bring this to the attention of our elected officials and the public. The news media is nowhere to be found, of course.
This assembly says it is part of the International Islamic Council of Dawah and Relief of whose chair was Sheikh Muhammad Sayed Tantawi of Egypt.
One particular disturbing fatwa issued by AMJA in 2007 is about sending food and aid to our soldiers: Is it permissible to participate in taking food to the American and foreign soldiers working in Muslim lands? They answer is "that would not be permissible, for that would be helping others in sin and transgression". They also issue an Islamic ruling Praying behind a member of a non-Islamic party" "which states "...then that is undoubtedly considered to be an act of disbelief (kufr) from him which renders invalid the prayer, fasting, charity and any act of worship!
There's another one that makes it clear Christians are kafirs - disbelievers and that you cannot take non-Muslims as friends.
Their rulings are hardline Islamic supremacy and it is taking place right under our noses.
