It seems no amount of rhetoric or interfaith discussions by the Islamic Society of Tulsa (IST) can disguise, what appears to be, their true nature which has been emerging to Oklahomans since 2007.
Last summer, we saw Tulsa's largest Muslim group embrace and partner with the Council of American Islamic Relations, a group started by three employees of the Muslim Brotherhood's Islamic Association of Palestine. The three; Nihad Awad, Omar Ahmad, and Ibrahim Hooper, continue to be in top leadership positions at CAIR today.
I should point out, Awad gave a speech under the Hezbollah flag, in 2002!
Federal prosecutors stated in court documents that IAP was an overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood(sec. 4, a). The Dallas Morning News reported the Islamic Association for Palestine reprinted the Hamas charter, which calls for killing Jews in jihad, or holy war (first bullet). The association's Arabic-language publications in the early 1990s routinely praised Hamas and its violent opposition to the peace process. The association also published and distributed Hamas communiques on U.S. college campuses.
Oklahomans read from the Islamic Society of Tulsa's public newsletters, that dying while fighting for Allah or Islam is as a good way to die as a Muslim. We also learned that only another Muslim is considered good company, others are poisonous for the heart. Then we were told, quite pointedly, by IST's Allison Moore that jihad is just a struggle and the rest of us are ignorant for thinking otherwise.
Last August, the Islamic Society of Tulsa gave an award to a group of Tulsa 9/11 conspirator theorists for their work to get the truth out and for their willingness to give IST a platform. TulsaTruth makes our government the enemy during this time of unprecedented attacks from Islamists. The Islamic Society of Tulsa sang their praises.
Then last fall, boldly and foolishly, several IST members entered a Christian church on 9/11/2007 and disrespected the service in progress. A debate resulted.
The person hand selected by the Islamic Society of Tulsa to represent them in this debate was Jamal Badawi a close associate of Sheik Yusef Qaradawi who is banned from entering the U.S. for his support of suicide bombers!
The real story here isn't how Badawi will speak circles around the Quran but his associations and what they stand for which I wrote about in "Fooling the Masses in Oklahoma". It's a big eye opener.
Badawi says a careful reading of the Quran leaves no doubt Islam is a religion of peace and nonviolence. Unfortunately, what he says doesn't match up with life in anyof the Islamic countries. If you believe Badawi words, then he has it right and the entire Middle East has it wrong.
Some of the associations of the Islamic Society of Tulsa are listed as unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation terror funding trial; the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America (IST's constitution states their continuous relationship), and the North America Islamic Trust and Jamal Badawi. He was named as an unindicted co-conspirator himself, whose foundation was listed in the Muslim Brotherhood's written plan for Islamizing North America, as the expert to educate others about glorious Islam. The Islamic Society of North America helped raise funds for HAMAS leader, Musa Marzook, claiming he has been held a hostage in the U.S. at the whim of his Zionist accusers in their Islamic Horizons magazine in 1995! Marzook then publically thanked their efforts in a open letter along with other Islamic organizations. Before Marzook was arrested, the Islamic Trust of North America, through one of its divisions wrote a check to Marzook for $10,000 and another one to his wife to help his Occupied Land Fund, the first name of the Holy Land Foundation!
The wife of Jamal Miftah, the man who was kicked out of the Islamic Society of Tulsa in the fall of 2007 has even accused them of money laundering. Perhaps, IST's feet will be held to the fire as the lawsuit Miftah filed against them if it goes forward.
CAIR now seeks to aid HAMAS calling on Muslims to put pressure on our elected officials to force Israel to lift their blockade of Hamas-controlled Gaza. It's not unusual for Islamic terrorist thugs to embed themselves among innocent men, women and children, is it? Then when they are attacked they can blame others "Oh, the poor innocent people hurt - what evil people would do this?" CAIR, could have and should have encouraged HAMAS to give up control in Gaza, thereby publically seeking and securing the protection of the innocent, which would end the blockade. But CAIR didn't go this route, instead they have accused our government of war crimes, in their Action Alert, which never mentions HAMAS' control of Gaza in their sample letter.
The Islamic Society of Tulsa appears to be, like CAIR, aligned with the Middle East Islamic world rather than America.
