Imam Hassan Al-Qazwini is the leader of the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, Michigan one of, if not the largest mosque, in North America. In a video (below) Qazwini discussed the fundamental beliefs of Islam with host Dennis Wholley.
Critics could say this video is a whitewashing of Islam designed to give the public the sanitized version of Islam which would conflict with other words, actions and deeds of this Imam that have been observed and documented over time.
One could also point out that nowhere in any Islamic country is Islam practice the whitewashed way it is portrayed in America and other western countries by these Muslim immigrants. Religious freedom doesn't really exist in these countries. Their laws, constitutions and practices overtly favor Islam thus forcing their citizens into Islamic bondage under severe penalty to do otherwise. Islamic leaders in America should be working feverishly to put pressure on Islamic countries to give their citizens religious freedom which they tell us in the U.S. is in the Quran. To date, I am unaware of any effort by any imam.
What this means is we simply cannot take the word of Islamic leaders at face value at their interfaith gatherings and public forums. The more you are familiar with how Islamic countries treat their citizens the more you can challenge Islamic leaders at open forums and other public events. Americans must speak up and often. Learn more how islamic countries treat their citizens here. Then ask these leaders what country practices Islam the way they portray it. They probably will be taken aback for a moment and will try to name one or two but with knowledge you can provide facts that will shut them down. Telling the truth is important here and is the goal.
Shame on host Dennis Wholley for giving this Imam such a one-sided platform that doesn't pass the test of reality.
Just another video that whitewashes Islam
Below Qazwini is pictured with the spiritual leader of Hezbollah!
Spiritual Leader Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah with Qazwini(from DebbieSchlussel)
Fadlallah spoke today in his Friday sermon about the Israeli attack last night. Note: Muslims refer to Jerusalem as Al-Quds because this is their name for this holy city they say is theirs:
"The heroic operation in Jerusalem (Al-Quds) proved that the mujahedeen in Palestine are able to hit the Zionists hard." Fadlallah also slammed the US administration for its unconditional support for the occupying regime and its dispatch of a destroyer to international waters off the coast of Lebanon.
This terror supporter stated last fall the U.S. designation of Iran's Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group was a "declaration of war".
I wonder how Imam Qazwini would spin what Fadlallah said while at the same time secretly applauding every word of Hezbollah's spiritual leader.
In addition, like a lot of Muslim leaders here, Qazwini blames our media for a lot of the problems with Islam - even calling it the enemy.
... “The biased media here in this country is playing a major role in promoting and pushing these misconceptions in the minds of Americans.”
Al-Qazwini blames CNN for having a show with Glenn Beck who spoke negatively about Muslims, along with Fox News and the O’Reilly Factor. He also blames religious leaders Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and Franklin Graham for “once in a while inciting hatred against Islam and Muslims in this country.”
”We’re dealing with, I would say, a ruthless enemy that is aimed at discrediting us, at labeling all Muslims as extreme Muslims,” Al-Qazwini said as he mentioned that there are also hundreds of ant-Islamic websites on the internet promoting hatred against Islam. “They brand us all as extremists so they can coax this fear and paranoia in the minds of Americans so they do not get to know us.”
Please don't let these people get away with such dishonesty. They are not being truthful and they need to be held accountable every opportunity. Speak out whenever possible in letters-to-the-editor and at public forums and so on. Always be polite but to the point.
Blogger Debbie Schlussel, a Detroit area attorney, reported, "Qazwini is a leader in the jihad and an open supporter of terrorist groups HAMAS and Hezbollah.
She has written about him for many years here and here, for example.
Any questions?
